Midi sample rate error logic pro x free.Set the sample rate of a project in Logic Pro

By Tumer , December 7, in Logic Pro. After this message comes the project is anything but musical. It is only some kind of heavily distorted noise that I can hear when I press continue. I am not using any midi in this project. And there is nothing else but an ex. HD and McMix as external device. Logic Pro 9. I'm having exactly the same issue. A project that was running fine is now completely unusable.

I tried repairing permissions, re-saving with a different name, etc Error trying to sync Audio and Midi. Check external devices. This message can have a number of causes, but as the message implies you need to look at your external devices. Could be your interface is being told to switch sample rates by another app, or its wordclock sync is external and the wrong speed or locking incorrectly, or the interface driver is reporting incorrectly to core audio.

When I use my built in interface soundcard of my mac there is no problem. So suggest that it is just what fader8 said. It is that my soundcard reports incorrectly to core audio I have this problem regularly with projects at 96k; on the other hand, The workaround I do is to reset Core Audio in Logic by making a change in the Audio Preferences and applying it like changing buffer size for example. There are quite a few people with the same problem, search this forum and also Apple Discussions for other workarounds.

Logic X Why assume it's an Apple problem? Whenever I get this message I can always track it down to wrong clock settings, cockpit error another app trying to override settings, flaky driver, etc.

Logic seems pretty good at letting you know when something's gone wrong, in this respect anyway. This happened after I upgraded from OS X I was getting this problem too and had no other progs open, just Logic Pro and Finder of course. Resetting my audio interface and doing the 'changing audio buffer size' trick didn't work although the buffer size trick is good for a number of other issues! That did the trick. Seems the keyboard was sending some sort of control change messages without me even touching it.

Yes, I know how completely illogical that sounds WEIRD ghost-in-the-machine stuff. I'd say this is a rare fix, just letting you all know in case it helps someone out there. Check conflict between LogicPro and external device Continue" After this message comes the project is anything but musical. I did not do any upgrade or anything.

Does anybody have any idea?
 More sharing options Tumer Posted December 9, Posted December 9, Are you running multiple files with different sample rates? You can check this in the Bin. If you're working with multiple sample rates in the same project, I imagine there would be some difficulty getting everything synchronized right. Umsky Posted December 9, With me it only happens with Kontakt 4, and only in one song. Other projects are fine.

LPX Music helps not the toothache. Tumer Posted December 11, Posted December 11, Is there anything I can do to bypass this issue? Are your faulty projects at a sample rate of 96k by any chance?

I thought this was a Logic 9 issue but it seems to happen also in Logic 8. Tumer Posted December 12, Posted December 12, Hi Denitronik, Your suggestion totally helps. It is a good workaround. And guess what? Sample rate is 96 k. Glad to be of help! Happy Holidays! Tumer Posted December 15, Posted December 15, Thanks Denitronic 8. Posted December 27, Doye Posted December 27, I keep getting this all the time.

Especially when I start my machine for the first time. It is an interface issue. Once I reset the interface driver everything is OK. I am sure this is not an apple issue. Posted January 7, I get this error too. This is how it usually occurs in my situation: I load the project audio only, everything at 96 kHz and it works fine for some time. Then I go to the File menu so that I can save the project with a new name. The work-around as suggested here is to force a re-launch of the Core Audio driver.

So, to me this looks like an Apple problem. Is there a thread for this subject on Apple's forum? Posted December 2, Join the conversation You can post now and register later. Reply to this topic

Simply click the Format dropdown button to change the setting. And, then, you bumped into the error. Reload the same project and monitor the CPU on its playback. You might also want to check the sync settings of your Logic Pro. Therefore, this article covers all the possible reasons and solutions so that you will definitely get rid of them — forever. I did managed album to Grammy Award in with 7 Nominations from and had the opportunities to work with : A.

You can watch this step by step video to solve this issue:. Jeff DeLia. Hi music fan! I am Jeff. Hope that you enjoy some stuff I shared here in my personal blog. If you have any devices digitally connected to the audio interface, make sure that only one device is set to be the master clock. If you are using Word Clock to sync multiple devices, be sure that all Word Clock connections are properly terminated. Try freezing tracks that use plug-ins that put significant load on the processor.

If you are syncing Logic to another application or device via MTC, make sure that both Logic and the sync master are set to the same format. If you using a Reactor ensemble that syncs its LFO to the song tempo, try bypassing or removing the plug-in.

If none of the above helps, try switching to Built-in Audio. If this resolves the problem, check for updated drivers for your audio and MIDI interfaces.

Also try a different project new project and see if it continues. Sometimes a project can get corrupted, though this is probably unlikely. I have seen this several times over the years Let us know how it works out! Ok thanks Tom I will try it. Do I find the sample rate in the core audio on my Mac computer? Most of the time it's just the instrument plugin on the selected track killing 1 of your cpu cores.

Try all of the above plus your internal sound card. Sample Rate recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. The plugin recognizes the digi and so does logic. Sorry I'm just getting back. Thanks Tom for your advice. I increased the buffer size as you suggested and not one time did I get popping and clicking noise.

Thanks again for your advice. The only issues I have now are, that sometimes, I get an overload error causing my playback to stop. Also, a track will out of the blue, stop producing sound. I usually switch to another track and then back to original track, and that fixes the issue momentarily. Any advice? This is an old thread but just thought I'd report, what worked for me was to just click somewhere else in the project.

This is now Logic In my experience, there is always a reason when this error message pops up. It's a good idea to try to find out what that reason is. Cautionary tale. I recently encountered this issue, and it puzzled me because I thought that I hadn't made any changes to my setup.

Logic Pro Possibly a sample rate mismatch between Logic and your audio interface. Are you using an audio interface or the built-in device of your computer?
